The training, which runs from Tuesday through Thursday, is designed to refresh participants’ knowledge and prepare them for the fieldwork, which is expected to officially begin on Friday.
According to Mr. Derrick Dweh, LLA’s Valuation Division Coordinator, the training is intended to remind selected data collectors of their roles and responsibilities, including what is expected of them in the field.
“This is a refresher training. We are glad everyone is on board. The LLA team is here to ensure the work is done smoothly. You know this is being done in partnership with the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA). We are enjoying a unique coordination and collaboration with the LRA. As for the data collectors, we have informed them about the official contract before the commencement of field activities. We are optimistic of a great job at the end of the day. Personally, I am very excited to see the selected participants in high spirits for the job ahead,” Mr. Dweh said.
He further stated that coordination between the two institutions (Local Government and LLA) remains strong. He said he's grateful for the level of support the team has received from the offices of the City Mayors across the two cities. Thus, the exercise will be done collectively.
The data collection phase comes as a result of the information dissemination, community awareness, and mapping activities previously conducted in the County.
The exercise according to Mr. Dweh marks a key step in the implementation of the PSIP, as the LLA advances from community sensitization and mapping to the collection of data across the two selected cities.
