The one-day intense working session hosted by the Ministry of Information (MOI), provided an opportunity for communication experts to share ideas and come up with a document that enable government to effectively and efficiently communicate nationally, regionally, and internationally.
However, Mr. Davis at the end of the working session described the document as an important tool for advancing the government’s “One Government, One Voice” vision, noting that clear, timely, balance, and accessible information is essential to building public trust and improving understanding of government services and programs.
“We all must work to communicate transparently. This is about our country and how transparent and accountable we can be to our people, especially those in rural Liberia,” he said.
The five-year draft National Communication Strategy is an eighty-two (82) page document structured around five key thematic areas, namely, Communication Governance Framework, Coherent Government Communication, Competitive Communication, Effective Crisis Communication, and Responsive Institutional Capacity.
